NRPA Gold Medal Award

WHAT IS THE GOLD MEDAL?
Awarded by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management recognizes agencies from across the country for their ability to address the needs of those they serve through the collective energies of citizens, staff and elected officials. 

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A GOLD MEDAL FINALIST?
Coppell Parks and Recreation joins three other finalists in our class (population 30,001 – 75,000) that will compete for the Gold Medal this year.

WHO IS OUR COMPETITION?
City of Westerville – Westerville, Ohio
Glenview Park District – Glenview, Illinois
Lombard Park District – Lombard, Illinois

WHEN WILL WE FIND OUT IF COPPELL WON?
The Gold Medal winner will be awarded/announced at the NRPA Annual Conference in 
Baltimore, September 24 - 26, 2019.

WHY IS THIS EXCITING?
It is a huge honor to be selected as a finalist. Coppell Parks and Recreation is now one of the top 16 Parks and Recreation agencies in the United States and in the top four for our population size. The passion and commitment of our staff to deliver the best, quality services at our parks, facilities, programs and activities that we maintain makes our community truly outstanding, and a standout in the Parks and Recreation industry.
