​​Tennis Court Rentals

Court reservations can be made online at www.coppellactivities.com, by calling 972-393-5687 or by coming into the center, up to one week in advance.  Reservation fees must be paid at the time of booking by credit card, cash or check.  League Captains, Event Organizers, and Special Event Requests would be directed to the Facility Manager at tenniscenter@coppelltx.gov​.

on-court lessons and services​

In a one-on-one or 2-to-1 semi-private setting, students can get individualized instruction to help them greatly improve their stroke mechanics, match play ability, overall footwork/agility and even strengthen their overall mental toughness. Our Tennis Professionals are USPTA-Certified and stay up-to-date with the latest high-performance teaching techniques.  Call or email our Pro Shop today to fill out a lesson request form and one of Wagon Wheel's Certified Tennis Teaching Professionals contact you within 24 hours to begin setting up a private lesson.

Lessons are set up to meet the customer and instructor's schedules.  Our staff will make every effort to schedule on court time that is convenient for you.  The price of a one-hour lesson ranges from $45 - $55. Semi-private lesson fees are $30 - $35/person/hour of instruction.  Payment is expected at the time the lesson is given.

Meet the Instructors

Jamie Nanez

Jamie has over 10 years of coaching experience, most recently as the Assistant Tennis Coach at Ferris State University. In addition to coaching several Top 20 nationally-ranked DII college players, Jamie has experience coaching in a tennis academy setting where he developed junior players from ZAT t​o Super Champ levels. Jamie is a USPTA-certified teaching pro.

Grayson Vanover

Grayson is the Lead Pro for the 10U program, and has been at the Wagon Wheel Tennis Center since 2014. He began playing tennis at 14 years of age and was a member of the Coppell High School varsity team. After high school, he attended Tyler Junior College as a member of their Professional Tennis Management Program, where he received his Associate’s Degree and USPTA certification.

Chris Hansen​

Chris worked at Kiest Park Tennis Center in Dallas during the 1980's. In addition to playing on the Pro Satellite Tour in Texas in 1987 and 1988, he also reached a state ranking of #16 in Texas in 35+ singles in 1991 and #22 in Texas in 35+ singles in 1992. He is a USPTA-certified teaching pro and is the assistant coach at the Corem Deo Academy.

Leng Ea

Leng has been the Head Tennis Coach at the Corem Deo Academy for the past 10 years. His varsity team has represented their school in the state tournament for the last 5 seasons. During this time he has coached multiple state champions in both girls singles and doubles and coached a runner-up in boys singles. Leng received his USPTA certification in 2013.



Classes and Camps​

Wagon Wheel Tennis Center offers something for everyone!  Our Junior Academy is an all-encompassing Junior Tennis Program in which our certified tennis teaching professionals strive to make each group training class a great class by being attentive to each individual student.  In addition to a fantastic Junior Tennis program, Wagon Wheel Tennis boasts several adult tennis opportunities for active, on-the-go adults.   Beginner and intermediate classes are offered several days a week.  Our mission is to provide high quality instruction by meeting a student’s individual needs.   Each class offers a creative, fun and information based approach developing technique, strategy and fitness level.

​​​Summer Tennis Camps​Camp Description
All Star Tiny Tots Camp​Ages 4 - 6 • You’re never too young to start learning the sport of tennis. Come to our Tiny Tots Camp and enjoy some time on the court with your child. This camp emphasizes motor skills to aid in the overall athletic development of junior tennis players. Parents are welcome to participate.
​All Star Half Day Tennis CampAges 7 - 14 • Beat the heat with our half-day tennis camp.  Get your tennis in during the early morning and get back home to the air-conditioning before the afternoon heat hits!​
​All Star Summer Tennis & Swim Camp​Ages 8 - 14 • School is out, time to go camping! No, not that kind of camping. Spend your summer doing the two best things on the planet — tennis and swimming. Work up a sweat with tennis match play, tennis drills and on-court activities and then cool down with water slides and outdoor pool fun all summer long. On Thursday afternoons, we’ll spend some time at the Biodiversity Education Center for a hands-on environmental educational experience. Campers will observe and learn about local flora, fauna, environmental sustainability issues and develop a connection with nature.
All Star Twilight Tennis CampsAges 7 - 14 • Not much of a morning person? Try our evening Twilight Camp! 
Ages 8 - 14 • If you are a player that has extensive experience with our tennis programming and are looking to increase your practice frequency, this is the camp for you! Participants should be playing tournaments regularly and plan to be registered for multiple weeks throughout the summer. This is not for beginner tennis players. 
 
​​Summer Junior Academy​Class Description
Motor Skillz for Tennis Drillz
Ages 4 - 6 • Sharpen your motor skills with our new class designed to develop athleticism in young children. Parents are encouraged to attend class with their child to help facilitate skill acquisition.
11 & Under Training
Ages 7 - 8 & 9 - 11 • This program combines tennis training and skill development with the experience of putting those skills to the test. You will be challenged with progressive lesson plans that will help prepare you for tennis match play. Coaches will work to group students based on age and ability levels. Each session includes a competitive opportunity. Players will get a chance to put their tennis skills to the test in a low intensity environment. Rules may be adjusted according to the athlete’s age and ability.
​Junior Development​Ages 12 - 16 • Look out Roger and Rafa! The Wagon Wheel Junior Development kids are aiming for your number 1 status. In this program, coaches are beginning to push junior players a little futher along the path towards great tennis. Refinement of groundstrokes, development of an overpowering tennis shot or two, and more focus on the physical strength and overall development as a tennis competitor will be emphasized. Enroll now and let our tennis professionals help you develop your skills.

Adult Academy​
Ages 18+ • New to tennis? Haven’t picked up your racquet in a few years? Join one of our classes with a certified teaching pro and rip some spin and serve up some bombs on your friends! Our teaching pros will go over the basics as well as give you challenging drills to help you reach your tennis goals. 
Adult Tennis Camp Mixer
Ages 18+ • Introducing our new Summer Camp for Adults! Come out and enjoy drills and thrills before the summer heat hits. Our Adult Camp will offer 4 opportunities: Friday night and Saturday morning drill sessions, a Saturday night mixer, and Sunday morning team tennis and brunch. This is open to all levels of players Beginner to Advanced. Participants will be grouped based on experience. Due to the nature of the camp, a minimum of 12 participants is required. 

Youth TeNNIS Team

Divisions:

10 and Under R.O.G.
This division is for players who are aged 10 and under, and are able to move athletically, have some ability to hit the ball over the net and currently keep score or can learn to keep score.

Beginner (12 & Under division and 14 & Under division) 
This division is for players who are aged 14 and under who are new to tennis or have little to no tournament or league play experience. 

Intermediate (12 & Under division and 14 & Under division)
This division is for players who are aged 14 and under who are able to hit both topspin and under-spin with control, serve a very high percentage of 1st serves in play and who are playing mid-cities/DPTA events, some ZAT level tournaments.

Adult Tennis League

Tennis in Coppell is a volunteer organization that coordinates adult leagues in Coppell. Participants are from Coppell and the surrounding areas. Players use the facilities at Wagon Wheel Tennis Center and Coppell High School. There are 4 regular seasons per year with 7 matches in a league. Cost for the league is $35 per person for singles and $25 per person for doubles. Fee is non-refundable after the leagues start.
