Coppell is Celebrating Independence Day in a big way! Celebrate Coppell - Party in the Park is Saturday, June 29 at Andrew Brown Park East from 5 pm-11 pm. Eventgoers will enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, games, and other fun activities. Headlining is the energetic, Jordan Kahn Orchestra, a party band that covers favorite hits from all generations. A family area will feature an array of bounce houses and kid-friendly activities.
Attendees are encouraged to leave the picnic baskets at home and satisfy their taste buds with a variety of favorites from local gourmet food trucks available for purchase. Food and beverages (including beer and wine) will be available for purchase at multiple locations throughout the park. A spectacular fireworks display choreographed to patriotic music, begins at 9:30 pm. Stay after the fireworks for more music and fun, as the Jordan Kahn Orchestra returns from 10 pm-11 pm.
Celebrate Coppell is a pedestrian friendly event and walking is encouraged! Access the event site via trail, from Andrew Brown West and Coppell High School to the west, and from the north across the Denton Creek Bridge. Eastbound Parkway Blvd. will close at 4 pm from Lodge Rd. to Heartz Rd. Vehicles traveling westbound on Parkway Blvd. may drop off passengers in front of the park.
For those who want to start the celebration early, The City of Coppell is partnering with Get You In Shape to host the 10th Annual Coppell 5K benefitting Special Olympics Teams of Coppell. This community event features a 1-mile fun run, a timed 5K race and a virtual option. The run starts at 8 am on Saturday, June 22 at Andrew Brown Park East.
The fun continues July 4 with Celebrate Coppell – Parade at 9 am. The parade begins at Samuel Blvd. and Sandy Lake Rd., travels north on Samuel to Parkway Blvd., then heads west to Town Center Blvd. Due to construction on Parkway Blvd., check the Celebrate Coppell website for information on the best viewing locations and line the parade route early for the best spot to view the red, white and blue floats go by!
