It's Time Texas Community Challenge

It's Time, Coppell! We came in second place last year, so let's reclaim our spot as number one!

Living Well in Coppell (LWiC) is once again locally sponsoring the 2019 It's Time Texas (ITT) Community Challenge. This statewide wellness initiative, which runs from January 7 to March 3, 2019, pits Texas cities of similar size against each other as they find fun and easy ways to demonstrate their commitment to healthy living. With the help of LWiC's sponsorship, Coppell participated and won its size category for numerous consecutive years. In 2018, the City of Harlingen outpaced Coppell and claimed the top spot.

If Coppell can once again clench first place, the City will not only be recognized both regionally and statewide as a healthy community, but the City will also receive $1,800 to distribute to schools in Coppell ISD for health and wellness programs.

It's easy to participate in the Community Challenge:

  1. Visit and register as a Coppell participant.
  2. Take a selfie doing something healthy or track your fitness.
  3. Upload your photos and activities to your account to earn points for the community.

There are multiple ways for citizens, businesses, schools and organizations to make healthy choices and earn points for Coppell. Demonstrating healthy lifestyle choices can be as simple as:

  • Going for a walk, jog or bike ride around your neighborhood or the park
  • Cooking or eating a healthy meal
  • Playing with your kids or pets in the yard
  • Working out at the CORE or Senior Center
  • Taking a yoga, meditation or crossfit class
  • Shopping for fresh produce at the Coppell Farmer's Market
  • Helping out at the Community or School Gardens
  • Anything else that demonstrates an active and healthy lifestyle!
  • Visit to find out other ways to earn points

LWiC's goal is for Coppell to win its category! This will not be possible without community help. Join the challenge and encourage your family, friends and co-workers to participate. Let's all go demonstrate our commitment to wellness!
