On Saturday, September 15, Cozby Library and Community Commons will be holding a Human Library from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for attendees to build positive relationships with neighbors and develop a better understanding of others. Several community members have volunteered to be "books" and you will able to check them out for a 30-minute conversation.
Some of the available books will be someone a Muslim, police officer, and parent of a disabled child. This is an opportunity to ask difficult questions and break down misconceptions and stereotypes.
The Human Library started in Denmark in 2000 as a way to encourage conversation and build positive relationships. Since then, many libraries and other organizations have held their own Human Libraries to support those same ideals.
Registration is open now. If you'd like to sign up for a spot, please email email@example.com or call 972-304-3658.
