Youth Cheer Fundraiser

We are rapidly approaching the time of year for the annual Coppell Moms Vs. Moms Powder Puff Football Game! The event takes place on May 20 at 6:00 p.m. at Coppell Middle School West’s Lesley Field. Once again, Teams Red and Black will compete for ultimate victory!

While looking for fundraising options, the idea for the game was conceived in a board meeting, back in 2010. It was created as a way to raise money for the Coppell Youth Cheer program, as an alternative to selling popcorn and sweets. The annual Powder Puff game is currently the only fundraiser for Coppell Youth Cheer, and also supports local charities, such as the Zack Thompson Foundation, and Taylor’s Gift. The event typically raises $10,000 each year.

This game is not for the faint of heart! Each team, both Black and Red, has fifteen players that are evenly rotated throughout the seven-on-seven touch football game. Though it is all fun and games, the game gets very competitive, according to Kiki Thorn, who has played in the game for several years. This makes for an extremely entertaining game that you won’t want to miss!

In addition to purchasing tickets for the game, there will be an online auction to benefit Coppell Youth Cheer, and local charities. Bidding begins on May 8 at, and ends on May 20 at 1:00 p.m. Winners can pick up their items either at the game, or during the after party at Old Town Pavilion.

Tickets for the 2017 Coppell Moms Vs. Moms Powder Puff Game are $5 at the gate!

Spots to be on the team fill up very quickly each year, so make sure to sign up early for 2018’s game, to reserve your spot as a player!
